Living in Luton

Luton – it is in the heart of Bedfordshire and home to one of the University of Bedfords main campuses. Previously it was home to The University of Luton but merged with De Montfort University Bedford campus to create The University of Bedfordshire in 2006.

The University of Bedfordshire has four faculties; Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Business School, and Faculty of Education and Sport. The Luton campus includes Business Pods, sports and science laboratories, an industry-standard TV studio and a gym as well as a thriving arts scene.

Just a short 30-minute train ride from London and a 6-minute bus ride from Luton Airport living in the town centre of Luton gives you great connections across the UK as well as the rest of Europe. You can enjoy the vibrancy of city life in London without the expensive rents, busy city, and constant noise. Luton provides a great mix of both nightlife and peace and quite making it a favourite area for students who want to study outside of London.

There is an 11-screen cinema in the city as well as bowling alleys, a shopping centre and football stadium and indoor market – so plenty to keep you occupied on the days you don’t have classes.

Luton’s surrounding area boasts a wealth of parks and open spaces for those who love nature, including ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, Dunstable Downs, Wardown Park and Luton Hoo stately home.

There are over 40 clubs and pubs to choose from in the town centre alone so no matter what takes your fancy you will find it in Luton.
